Its been a great year. Seems weird to be writing about the end of the year in our first blog – a bit like having an `Italian day’, everything you start off to do just gets in the way of the day and so, you just have to go along with the Italian flow… or stagnation; like on Sunday when we set off to drive to Pisa, to catch the train to Rome, to spend a few days with our son, Sollai. But the roads were all cut off by floods. So you just sit in the traffic from Lucca to the sea, an hour on the road and still no train to Rome. Going with the flow means making the decision to turn around and just drive to Rome!! Four hours later, and we are there, again in another traffic jam…. but a four hour trip to Rome, via Florence, you can’t complain.
We are two artists, Shona Nunan and Michael Cartwright, living in the Tuscan mountains on the river Lima. We have our studios under our home, vaulted ceilings, ancient doors, opening onto our little garden overlooking our beautiful river. Benvenuto, welcome.
